It dawned on me a couple of days ago, it has been exactly 7 years since I moved to Seattle. Well, technically at the time I lived in Redmond, but I prefer to think of those as the "Dark Ages", otherwise known as the time I lived on the Eastside.

While Seattle can be dark, grey, and rainy, there's always a certain optimism that hangs in the air, just beneath the marine layer. I think that optimism is a kind of hope, that if you hang in there, something really good will come along. The wonderful thing about living here is that we are programmed to endure countless days of grey, and rain, because when the sun does come, it's well worth the wait. One might say that it's a little like life.

Woof, that was loaded. I roll my eyes at myself.

That all leads up to this: I'm starting a new blog. Guess what? You're reading it! I am letting 'Where is SummerWaldo' go, mostly because it really doesn't have any kind of direction or voice, but also because it's time to pick a direction and stick with it. I hope you enjoy my new blog. I will actually write in this one, and I might say some stuff that might actually be worth a read.

Come back, have a cup of coffee, and let's get intimate.
